Welcome to Mr. Roen's homepage! I am looking forward to another fantastic year at Mitford. I teach Grade 8 Science, Language Arts and Grade 7 and 8 CTF options. Please refer Google Classroom for course information, notes, assignments and activities that will help students be successful.

Tips for Success (Students):

1. Please make sure that you are reviewing the key concepts and staying on top of your assignments.

2. Check the homework calendars, Moodle and PowerSchool regularly.

3. If you don't understand something, ask for help, come and see me or email me.

***I will be available at morning break and after school to provide extra help when necessary.***

Tips for Success (Parents):

1. Make sure your child is reviewing regularly and staying on top of their assignments.

2. Check the plone, Google Classroom and PowerSchool for up to date information on your child's progess.

3. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Tips for Language Arts success: Complete each worksheet using full-sentences while being cognizant of punctuation, grammar, spelling and fluidity. This section of assignments will be assessed using a rubric that will be uploaded on Moodle, Mitford Plone and Google Classroom - with the latter being the main platform in which the students are expected to complete the assignment and submit online.

Tips for Science success: Ask questions during class-time. Complete all assigned questions but do not stress if you do not understand one or two questions - star them and ask me the following day for help.
