Welcome to Mrs. Wiens' homepage! I am excited to be teaching grade 6 and 7 this year. I have a passion for Language Arts and literacy, and I'm excited to bring that love to my students!

Helpful Study Tips for Parents:

A family atmosphere prevails at our school with the education of your child being a shared responsibility.  We encourage your interest in what your child does each day and welcome your involvement in the classroom, school council and at home. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas!

I am using Google Classroom for Langauge Arts 7, Language Arts 6, and Social 6, and am happy to add parents and gaurdians so that you can stay up to date on what is happening in class. Assignments, resources, reminders and calendars will all be be posted on a daily basis as needed in class.

Assignments will be marked as "Collected" when they have been submitted to me, and then the mark will appear once it has been marked. Assignments will be marked "Missing" if they are not handed in, and adversely affect overall grades. All assignments will have a description of what was expected. I will also try to make a point of emailing due dates of major assignments (i.e. short stories, essays, projects that we have spent more than a week of classtime on) to parents or gaudians.

Please note that in accordance with RVS' policy, I am happy to re-mark assignments or accept resubmitted only provided that the original assignment was submitted on or prior to the due date.

Students are encouraged to discuss with me or email me if they are having problems with homework or assignments, and extensions may be given under some circumstances.
